Inabanga High School is the largest secondary school in the municipality of Inabanga. Established in 1993 through the collaborative efforts of the
Sangguniang Bayan, the Barangay Council, and the Inabanga High School Parents, Teachers, and Community Association (IHS-PTCA), the school has since
become a pillar of education in the community.
During its inaugural year, the school started with two sections at the first-year level. Classes were initially held in the unfinished Nabuad Elementary School Home Economics building and the Nabuad barangay chapel. In the following school year, two second-year classes were added, accompanied by the construction of a two-room makeshift structure through the efforts of the IHS-PTCA, the Nabuad Barangay Council, and the municipal government. A year later, two third-year classes were introduced, followed by the construction of school buildings funded by JAICA, DepEd, and DPWH. By 1997, two fourth-year classes were added, making Inabanga High School a fully established secondary institution. That same year, the school held its first commencement exercises.
In its early years, the school relied on three volunteer teachers. As enrollment grew, more locally funded teachers were added, with their honoraria supported by the PTCA and the Local Government of Inabanga. Over time, permanent teaching positions were allocated, with qualified volunteer teachers securing government-funded items. In 2004, the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for Inabanga High School was officially approved, ensuring sustainable funding for its operations.
Strategically located in Barangay Nabuad, the school sits 3.5 kilometers from the town proper and 74.5 kilometers north of Tagbilaran City, serving as a vital educational institution for students in the area.
